Premium Core Material:
Baosteel Silicon Steel

The stator core is the heart of the magnetic circuit. JWMotor standardizes on Baosteel 50W470 (0.5mm) high-grade silicon steel to minimize iron loss. For variable frequency and high-speed applications, we offer an ultra-thin 0.2mm option.

Key Benefits

The optimized structure of our silicon steel significantly reduces hysteresis loss and eddy current heat.

Premium silicon steel ensures higher saturation magnetic induction (Bs) for greater torque output.

High-speed progressive stamping controls burr height within 0.02mm, preventing inter-laminar short circuits.

Supplier

We source from the world’s No.1 steelmaker, Baowu Group, for premium Baosteel Silicon Steel. This cold-rolled non-grain oriented electrical steel features high magnetic permeability and low iron loss, optimized for high-efficiency motor laminations.

See What Goes Into Your Motor

01

Why does JWMotor specify Baosteel 50W470 silicon steel instead of generic steel?

The stator core is the main source of iron loss. Baosteel 50W470 is a premium Non-Grain Oriented (NGO) steel with low iron loss characteristics (~4.7 W/kg). This minimizes hysteresis loss and reduces core heating, allowing the motor to achieve higher torque density and IE3/IE4 efficiency levels.

02

When should I choose the 0.2mm ultra-thin lamination option?

Standard 0.5mm laminations are ideal for 50/60Hz grid motors. However, for high-speed motors or high-frequency VFD applications, our 0.2mm ultra-thin laminations are superior. Thinner laminations drastically reduce eddy current losses, which prevents the core from overheating at high RPMs.

03

How does "Burr-Free" technology impact motor lifespan?

We control stamping burr height to within 0.02mm. Excessive burrs can puncture the insulation between laminations, causing inter-laminar short circuits. These shorts create localized “hot spots” that can burn out the winding insulation. Our precision stamping eliminates this hidden failure mode.

04

What is the benefit of using Non-Grain Oriented (NGO) electrical steel?

Unlike transformers, motor flux rotates 360 degrees. NGO steel is isotropic, meaning it has uniform magnetic permeability in all directions. This ensures smooth torque generation, reduces vibration, and prevents the torque ripple that occurs with directional steels.
